Evening commute: CTA, Metra say customers should expect delays after Cubs celebration

BREAKING NEWS ALERT

Both CTA and Metra trains have been packed like sardine cans with Cub fans on Friday, heading to and later leaving the parade and downtown rally celebrating the team’s first World Series’ win in 108 years.

That could make for a tough commute during the evening rush as CTA and Metra officials both said this could be the busiest day ever for the transit agencies – even exceeding the record ridership numbers for the Blackhawks Stanley Cup parades and rallies in 2015 and 2013.
