BEAR WEATHER

The forecast for Sunday’s Bears-Packers game at Soldier Field: 2 degrees with a wind chill of minus 18. So, balmy. The tilt could be the coldest in Bears history, both home (3 degrees) or away (minus 2). Pernell McPhee, a Florida native and self-appointed team historian, won’t be wearing sleeves. “I’ve told them the macho stuff’s all great,” John Fox cracked, “but there comes a point where people might question your intelligence.” Quarterback Matt Barkley will be wearing sleeves because “I’m not a polar bear.” The weather would be conducive to running the ball, hint hint Dowell Loggains. Plenty of tickets are still available (gee, we can’t see why). If you are in attendance, a tip from The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore: “Alcohol just enhances the cold.”
